My first fathers day.

All sorts of great things happened today, not the least receiving a fantastic mug signed(well footprinted) by my fantastic daughter, Zoe!

Thys, a South African in our church, made the great point today that God is our perfect Father. He is the one who is always faithful, never lets us down, always looking for the best for us, and loves us totally. When you put it like that His discipline doesn't seem so bad!

I have also been thinking about the word faith a bit, and how it is mentioned so much by Jesus in the Gospels. He says things like "your faith has healed you", and "the work of God is this, to believe in the one he has sent". I wonder how much God smiles when we believe what He says??? In Matthew 8:26 Jesus rebukes his disciples for their lack of faith, and because they were worried about a silly thing like drowning!!! It is very easy to see the storms of life and worry about drowning in them, but Jesus wants to rebukes the waves and the wind of our lives and increase our faith!!!!

We can say words that have faith or words that are empty of them.

I have been very guilty of the latter, lots of words and not much substance. God has been teaching me in the last week how to have faith, to pray with faith, act with faith, move forward towards Him.

How cool is that??? Since Jesus is our High Priest, we can come near to God with FULL ASSURANCE of faith, because GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! We can have faith in God because He is 100% faithful. More faithful than gravity, the sun, and all the stars in the sky put together.

That is our Father. Our Dad.
